Maravilla Gardens sits above the Santa Rosa Valley, with vineyards and the mountains behind it. It takes one wedding a day, which changes how a film gets made there: there is time to walk the property before anyone arrives, and no second event pushing you off the grounds at sunset.
Below is a film shot there in July 2026 — Chris and Jenn, a Marine Corps wedding, ceremony in the hedged garden and dinner under the string lights.

The ceremony garden
The ceremony sits inside tall hedges and mature trees, so the light is shaded and even rather than the hard afternoon sun you fight at open venues. Faces hold their colour, and there is no blown-out sky behind the couple. It is one of the easier ceremony spaces in the county to shoot well.
The aisle is long enough to hold a proper wide shot, and the hedge line means a second camera can sit close without appearing in frame.
The valley, and when to use it
The patio looks west over the vineyards. That view is the reason to protect twenty minutes in the timeline roughly an hour before sunset — it is the only part of the day where the light does something the rest of the property cannot give you.
If the timeline is tight, this is the thing worth moving other events around.
Dinner and the string lights
Dinner is under an open structure strung with lights, with the hills still visible while there is daylight. Once the sun drops, those lights become the only real source in the room, so the reception is shot wide open on fast glass rather than lit artificially. It keeps the room looking like the room.
Events end at 10 or 11pm, so the last dances happen in full darkness — worth knowing when you plan the send-off.
Two things I would tell any couple booking here
Wind carries across the valley in the afternoon. It is the one real risk to ceremony audio at Maravilla. Vows get recorded on a lavalier on the groom with a second recorder on the officiant, so a gust never costs you the words.
One wedding a day is worth using. Because nothing is scheduled before you, there is time to walk the ceremony garden, the patio and the reception structure before guests arrive — which is when the quieter shots in the film above were found.
